How to use for loose incense:

To use as incense or to dress candles with use a mortar and pestle to grind your herbs. If you do not have a mortar and pestle and you would like for me to pre-grind the herbal mix for you please leave a note at checkout. I would be more than happy to help.

You will need charcoal incense. DO NOT USE barbecue charcoal it is not safe for indoors nor burning herbs, can be very dangerous, can burn toxic fumes

If you are not using a cast iron cauldron, you can a heat proof incense bowl with at least 2" of sand, or natural ash. This will provide insulation for your burner. Charcoal can burn at up to 1500 degrees F

Using tongs or tweezers to hold the charcoal, light it from the bottom with a lighter and place in your burner.

Charcoal will begin to spark to fully ignite, wait until it is fully lit then add a pinch of your incense.

When the smoke begins to thin you can add more. Be careful to not add too much as it can smother the charcoal and put it out.

The charcoal will typically stay hot enough to burn incense for 30 - 45 minutes.
**Never leave a hot burner unattended. Keep out of reach of pets and children.**
